Welcome to Trent Gardens. Please feel free to take a stroll through.
These
are my gardens through the seasons. They provide inspiration, respite, and an ever-changing source of joy.
In the summer, I take a walk through with a cup of tea before beginning my day just to see what is in bloom.
In daylily season, I take a mid-day break, wandering through the gardens hybridizing, and creating my own unique collection
of these beauties. Many of the beds were originally created to hold the ever-increasing daylily collection.
Daylilys feature prominently in most of the beds and borders, but there are many other unique perennials, vines,
groundcovers, bulbs, and annuals. I have organized the photographs in these pages to give a better
feel for each of the areas.

I
draw a lot of energy from my gardens. During the all too brief stretch of warm days in
New England, garden tasks energize me. Even weeding offers a refreshing
break from sitting at the computer. Inside, I have placed my desk between windows that
look out over several of my favorite beds.
We have a very large collection of daylilies. A hybridizing program produces several hundred
new seedlings each year. From these, I am selecting the best and most beautiful for possible sale.
Wooded conservation land and an open meadow provide a very private paradise. Our pond, the falls and
stream bring an abundance of wildlife that is a constantly changing source of entertainment.
